Train Chartering has launched GroupTrain, offering a full service consultancy to individuals, companies and travel agents for complex group rail travel arrangements. GroupTrain focusses the benefits of the company's experience on the project and guest management of group train travel.

The planning and booking of group rail travel is complicated for a number of reasons such as multi-day trips, when more than one train operating company is involved, or if there are en route train changes. The physical management of larger groups across a rail network also requires specialised advice, for example if more than one means of transport is required, like coach transfers.

Examples of group travel operations have included the arrangement of travel for the staff of Barclays Bank from around Britain using a charter train, group rail travel and coaches in connection with a community service project at the British Museum.

Train Chartering operated group travel requiring consultancy for the Girl Guides, which had a number of smaller groups travelling across train operating company 'boundaries'. Train Chartering managed more than 3,000 passengers between stations in the UK and Paris for the 200 Rugby World Cup. This operation involved charter trains, the hire of half Eurostar trains, limousines, coaches and of course comprehensive ground handling.

A further instance was for over 150 trainees of a major consultancy, who went to the Aviemore Resort in Scotland in private carriages in a scheduled train service, supplied with bespoke catering.
